Transcription with speaker attribution and a decent summary is a solved problem, and it removes a task nobody wanted. If you are evaluating one thing in this category, evaluate this — it has the shortest path from adoption to obvious benefit, and the failure mode is a mediocre summary rather than anything costly.
Check what it does with the recording
Meeting tools ingest exactly the material organisations are most careful about: salaries, strategy, customer names, unreleased plans. Retention period, training use, who at the vendor can access it and whether participants are notified are all worth knowing before the bot joins a call. In several jurisdictions recording without informing everyone present is also a legal question, not only a courtesy one.
Integration matters more than capability here
A slightly weaker tool that lives inside the suite you already use will get used; a better one that requires exporting and re-importing will not. For office work specifically, the friction of switching context is usually larger than the difference in output quality.
When you probably do not need one
For spreadsheets specifically, asking an AI to write a formula you do not understand creates a cell you cannot debug six months later.
