About
A directory of AI tools that tries to be useful about when not to use them.
Why another directory
Most AI tool directories are lists. They tell you a product exists, what category it sits in, and what its own marketing page says about it. That is easy to produce and rarely worth reading, because the hard question is never "does this tool exist" — it is "is this the right one for what I am doing, and where will it let me down".
So every entry here carries four things beyond the description: what it is genuinely good for, what its real limitations are, and — the part most directories omit — who should not use it. A tool being excellent is not the same as it being right for you.
How entries are written
Facts and judgement are kept separate on purpose. Pricing, links and categories are verifiable and are checked against the vendor’s own pages. The editorial judgement is written by a person and is never generated or overwritten by an automated process.
Where an entry has not been verified through hands-on use, we would rather say so than imply a depth of testing that did not happen. Each entry carries the date it was last reviewed.
What it costs
Nothing, and there is no account to create. The site is static, so there is nothing to log in to and nothing to store about you.
We may run advertising in future to cover hosting. If and when that happens, this page and the privacy policy will be updated before it goes live, not after.
